The key elements every website should have

A couple of years ago, I was on a huge health kick after reading The Beauty Detox Solution by Kimberly Snyder (if you’re into nutrition, it is a must read!)

Anywho, one day I was busy cooking all weekend making dinners and treats to keep me going through the week while my (now husband) Niall was at rugby training. He walked through the door just as I pulled a fresh tray of brownies out of the oven and the smell of sweet baked goods filled the room and made our tummies rumble.

I cut a slice through the decadent fudgy brownie and plated it up with a cup of tea. Niall took a bite, closed his eyes and…… spat the whole thing out in disgust! “What the hell is in these things?” he asked.

To which I sheepishly admitted – sweet potato. Yup sounds as gross as it was, but all the health food blogs online had been raving about how it tasted ‘just like the real thing’.

Now you could argue he could have sweetened his reaction slightly after I spent the day slaving away in the kitchen but the truth of the matter is I’ve never made them again since and I’m pretty sure he is extremely grateful about that!

You see sometimes we just need a bit of tough love. I know they say things like food taste (and design for that matter) should be subjective, but some things just aren’t right. Case in point: sweet potato brownies.

This is exactly how I feel when I see a bad website. A bad website to me is like eating a big chunk of root vegetable dessert to Niall. And it is oh so avoidable. So sink your teeth into today’s video (see what I did there?!) where I chat all things website and what makes a great one.
